Went to the UK and trained with John Mowlems (known as Mowlem Construction Co. in East Africa)
as a Quantity Surveyor. Emigrated to South Africa in 1969, and joined a company called Murray
& Stewart which later became known as Murray & Roberts - one of the largest contacting companies
in Southern Africa. Worked in the Eastern Cape & Transkei (then one of the homelands).
In 1983 went to Australia (Brisbane) and worked there for a year.
Returned to South Africa (still working for same company), worked my way up to Chief Quantity
Surveyor & a Divisional Director of the company.
In 1997 decided I needed a new challenge in life & joined the International Division of our firm
and "for my sins" I was sent to Dubai & Beirut as an Estimator.
In 1998 was transferred to Botswana as Chief Estimator & have been here ever since.
Younger brother Malcolm Scott was in Grigg 1961-1963.
